Neelam Punjani is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta. She has received her BScN and MScN at Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery from Karachi, Pakistan. Shortly after, she began working actively within the community advocating for young people's sexual and reproductive health and rights. Her current topic of research for her Ph.D. is inspired by seeing countless young girls in her home country unable to express themselves related to their sexuality.
With her hard work and dedication, Neelam has received several prestigious scholarships and awards in the last two years. Out of many Izaak Killam memorial scholarship, WCHRI studentship, Delta Kappa Gamma World Fellowship, and Aga Khan Foundation International scholarship, to name a few. She is actively involved in voluntary work and represents many committees in University such as she has executive positive in NGSA, vice president of the Mu Sigma chapter, and trainee member in the Research Review Committee.
