The Women's Health Research Cluster is committed to embedding equity, diversity, and inclusivity best practices into our activities and processes as well as helping our members do the same. This page outlines a few ways we're approaching that work. If you want to learn more about equity, diversity and inclusion check out our resource page.
Belonging, Dignity and Justice Advisory Committee
In 2020, we formed a Belonging, Dignity and Justice Advisory Committee to review cluster processes and activities and make recommendations about how we can strengthen our EDI practices. This committee meets bi-annually and is comprised of 11 individuals that bring professional and/or personal expertise to the table from a wide variety of backgrounds. The Committee includes students, faculty and individuals from the community who are both WHRC members and non-members. Check out this Committee's Terms of Reference to learn more about their focus, positionality within the Cluster and ability to influence our work. If you'd like to join our advisory committee, please reach out to our Director of Operations.
Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Health Cluster Alliance
In 2020, the WHRC joined 11 other health-focused organizations in forming the JEDI Health Cluster Alliance. The goal of this Alliance is devoted to developing the inclusion skills of our members by providing training and awareness raising opportunities to them. Watch our events page or subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date. Here is a list of members of this Alliance:
