Emily McKay is a Registered Nurse pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing at the University of British Columbia. Emily currently works at the Women's Health Clinic at BC Women's Hospital. She is also a Graduate Academic Assistant for Dr. Ojukwu, and works on several research studies centered around HIV care for African/Caribbean/Black women, intimate partner violence, and teenage pregnancy. Emily's MSN thesis project is assessing respectful care outcomes for patients with endometriosis. Emily is passionate about addressing how gender and sex, and other social determinants of health, influence the health of all women. Emily’s goal is to become a leader in advancing women’s health by teaching healthcare professionals at a university level and conducting research to improve women’s health outcomes.
