We are thrilled to announce that the Lead of the Women’s Health Research Cluster, Dr. Liisa Galea, has been appointed as the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s (CAMH) inaugural Treliving Chair in Women’s Mental Health. Through this new role, Dr. Galea will provide leadership to womenmind—a community of philanthropists committed to closing the gender gap in mental health—and shape groundbreaking research discoveries that will impact, improve, and influence better mental health outcomes in girls and women.
Although Dr. Galea will be moving on from her role at UBC and taking up a new one at CAMH, she will continue leading the WHRC. With the overlapping goals of the WHRC and womenmind, we are excited for the opportunities Dr. Galea’s new role brings us.
We are proud of Dr. Galea for securing this prestigious appointment and are looking forward to continuing to work towards achieving sex-and-gender health equity with her.
