WOMEN'S HEALTH SEMINAR WITH Dr. Suzanne Campbell: Communicating with new mothers about breastfeeding: A health promotion, health-equity, patient-centred focus

Dr. Suzanne Campbell is an Associate Professor and former Director of the School of Nursing at UBC. Her research program examines the use of innovative teaching pedagogy to teach clinical and non-technical skills such as health communication, including testing a global interprofessional therapeutic communication scale. Her clinical practice focuses on reproductive social justice through the promotion of lactation - specifically for priority populations. She is co-editor of the award winning Interdisciplinary Lactation Care text (2018). With colleagues from nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, and medicine, she is PI creating an interdisciplinary open educational resource for lactation education of pre-licensure health professionals incorporating provincial practice and community partners.
