Dr. Lisa Kalynchuk

Dr. Lisa Kalynchuk is the Vice-President Research at the University of Victoria (UVic). Dr. Kalynchuk holds a BSc. in Psychology from the University of Alberta, and an MA and PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Kalynchuk joined UVic on July 1, 2017, and holds an academic appointment with the Division of Medical Sciences, with an adjunct appointment to the Department of Psychology.

Before joining UVic in 2017, Dr. Kalynchuk was a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, and Associate Dean for Interdisciplinary Health Research in the Office of the Vice-Provost Health. Dr. Kalynchuk is an active researcher with interests in mental health and drug discovery. She recently completed two terms as a Canada Research Chair in Behavioral Neuroscience. As an administrator, she has led and contributed to several major planning exercises, including an academic program prioritization process and the implementation of institutional and cultural changes required to transition into a shared health sciences facility. Dr. Kalynchuk is committed to interdisciplinarity and team science.
