Alysha Deslippe

PhD Student

Food, Nutrition and Health

Alysha Deslippe is a PhD student in Human Nutrition at the University of British Columbia. Under the supervision of Dr. Tamara Cohen, her research focuses on understanding how gender and sex play a role in adolescents’ eating practices. By exploring this, more inclusively interventions that support healthy eating can be developed. Alysha is big on collaboration and often relies on mixed-methods, participatory designs within her work. She is very excited to continue to collaborate by joining the diverse team of experts, trainees and volunteers at the Women’s Health Research Cluster!

Alysha supports our curriculum development. She lends her expertise to develop content for the Faculty of Medicine Responsible Conduct for Research course, which will help students understand how to properly consider sex and gender in research.
