Seminar Title: Disruptions in Neuroplasticity: When Sex and Parental Experience Collide

Presenter: Dr. Erica R. Glasper, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland

Erica R. Glasper is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Randolph-Macon College, and M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychobiology and Behavioral Neuroscience from The Ohio State University. She joined the faculty at UMD in 2011 after completing a UNCF/Merck and a NIH postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University. Her research takes a multidisciplinary approach, using a combination of behavioral paradigms along with neuroendocrine, neuroanatomical, neuroimmune, neurochemical, and pharmacological techniques in three lines of research: 1) neurobiology of paternal experience, 2) neuroprotective role of rewarding social experiences, and 3) enduring consequences of paternal deprivation.
