Presenters:

	Jennifer Williams, PhD Candidate, McMaster University Presentation Title: Hormonal contraceptives and Early Risk indicators for cardiovascular disease in women: the HER Study Jennifer Williams is a PhD candidate in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University, with a prior MSc degree from Queen’s University. She has previously studied the impact of acute hyperglycemia on vascular function in healthy men and women, across the menstrual cycle. She is currently a graduate trainee in the Vascular Dynamics Lab, supervised by Dr. Maureen MacDonald. Her present PhD research focuses on the short- and long-term impact of hormonal contraceptives on cardiovascular and metabolic indicators in women. Committed to the advancement of women in STEM, Jennifer is a VP of the Women in Science and Engineering, coordinating mentorship opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and Faculty members at McMaster. Jennifer is also a graduate trainee with CIHR’s Institute of Gender and Health and has recently been involved in starting a sex and gender in health research network at McMaster. She is excited to share her current PhD research study progress and hear of other women’s health research from WHRC members.
	Zaryan Masood, Undergraduate student, McMaster University Presentation Title: The impact of hormonal contraceptives on substrate oxidation during rest and submaximal aerobic exercise My name is Zaryan Masood, I just finished my undergrad in Life Sciences at McMaster University. I am doing research at the Vascular Dynamics Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Maureen MacDonald, where we specialize in looking at arterial health and function.
	Sonia Milani, Study coordinator, UBC Presentation Title: Comparing Visual Attention Patterns in Women With and Without Sexual Concerns I am a study coordinator at the UBC Sexual Health Research Lab. My area of research focuses on examining women's sexual dysfunction and neurocognition using eye tracking methodology.
	Alex Lukey, Graduate Student / Registered Nurse, UBCO Presentation Title: Cardiac Outcomes of Menopausal Women Prescribed Concurrent Hormonal and Statin Combinations Regiments in British Columbia Alexandra Lukey is a graduate student at UBC Okangan School of Nursing. She is also currently a practicing Registered Nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Alexandra has been involved in research of varied topics including atrial fibrillation patient care transitions and primary healthcare reform through team-based care. Alexandra's master’s thesis is focusing on exploring heart failure patient self care through technology. Alex also works in advocacy for women’s health as a board member of the Kelowna and District Pro-Choice Society.
	Sadaf Sediqi,Undergraduate student, UBC Presentation Title: Associations between IL-1β and deep dyspareunia in nerve bundle growth in endometriosis: A pilot study Sadaf is an undergraduate student in the Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Lab supervised by Dr. Paul Yong. Her research interests explore the symptoms of endometriosis-associated pain affecting women’s health.
	Tristan Joshua Phillipe, PhD Candidate, UBC Presentation Title: Sex differences in basal and stress related core body temperature in the rat Tristan Philippe, PhD(c) and IMH Marshal Scholar, Viau Lab, Department of Cellular & Physiological Sciences, UBC. I study sex differences in stress, anxiety and depression with various tools including RNAseq, bioinformatics, tissue staining, pharmacology, temperature, behaviour and various gene manipulations in the rat.
